More Than A Week July 5-11, 2008

Part 2

By Joshua Sanders |  July 21, 2008

A couple of weeks ago I attended the, "More Than A Week" Conference in Estes Park, Colorado with my First Baptist Youth Group.  I had expected a week get away to the Rockies and to return home not feeling any differently than I did before we boarded the plane at O'Hare Airport.

But what I experienced was more than I expected.  At the first worship I learned this conference was going to be about developing a deep relationship with Jesus Christ.  As the week progressed I learned many things during the workshops, small groups, and the presentations.

The workshops helped me to return to my life after leaving the mountains as a better Christian.  I want to develop a deeper relationship with Christ.  During the first workshop, "No More Drama Conflict In Our Lives", I learned to resolve conflicts in appropriate ways.  "What's Love Go To Do With It" taught me how to have a Christian relationship.  The speaker presented the Hollywood view of relationships and the holistic view of relationships. The theme of the "Got Gifts" workshop was about recognizing true potential and achieving it;  it helped me focus on my gifts and how to reach my potential.

The speakers motivated me to walk in Christ and do the right things.  In my small groups I was able to communicate with others about Christ.  Overall the trip experience has encouraged me to live better.  My trip to the Rockies has truly been more than a week!
